You can set up a username in Settings and use the universal search box in the chat list to search for chats, messages, and usernames.
+Collectible usernames work just like basic usernames, they appear in Global Search results and have their own links that can be used outside of Telegram: username.t.me and t.me/username. However, collectibles can be less than 5 characters long and you can have multiple collectible usernames for your profile or each of your public groups or public channels.

You can have up to one basic username and any number of collectible usernames at the same time. This is also true for public groups and public channels.
Once you've set up a username, you can give people a t.me/username link. Opening that link on their phone will automatically fire up their Telegram app and open a chat with you. You can share username links with friends, write them on business cards or put them up on your website.
